The VP, US Vaccines Accounts Management Lead is responsible for leading a team of approximately 100 colleagues including Vaccines Account Directors (VADs), Vaccines Account Managers (VAMs), Senior Director, National & Specialty Accounts, National Account Directors (NADs), and an Account Enablement Director. The team focuses on achieving U.S. Vaccine business goals with organized customers/stakeholders in the US, including but not limited to, healthcare networks, medical groups, managed care organizations, VA, DoD, purchasing groups, state immunization departments, and large public and private vaccine customers. This leader collaborates with Vaccine Brand Marketing, Market Access, Legal, Sales, Pharmacy, Compliance, Public Policy, Payer and Channel Access, Field Medical teams, and others.

The lead reports to the US Customer Engagement Platform (CEP) Lead and sits on the US Vaccines Sales and Accounts Leadership Team. They are a key partner to our vaccine brands (Prevnar, Comirnaty, Abrysvo, Trumenba, Penbraya) and our strategic contracting team.
Remote location options are available with significant travel, estimated at 30%-40% for meetings and external engagements.

Team Leadership and Performance:

  • Leads a national team to deliver targeted business outcomes, providing access and creating pull-through opportunities for Pfizer vaccine products across various healthcare entities.
  • Develops robust business plans to maximize organized customer performance, conducting reviews and updates with leadership.
  • Builds capabilities to engage with key decision-makers and influencers, including health system management and professional associations.
  • Leads contracting strategies and negotiations to optimize results.
  • Manages team performance, providing clear direction, coaching, and development feedback.
  • Conducts account plan reviews, customer visits, and sets performance objectives.
  • Leads projects across functions like marketing, sales, pharmacy, access, and medical to support US Vaccines BU.
  • Handles employee relations issues with HR support.

Strategic Account Management:

  • Partners with senior-level customers to meet and influence their needs, creating revenue over 1-3 years.
  • Builds relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Assesses healthcare issues and policy implications, guiding strategies and advocacy.
  • Shares lessons learned across teams.
  • Enhances team capabilities and collaborates across regions and functions to meet portfolio objectives.

Internal Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Participates in leadership to drive vaccine and account management goals.
  • Fosters collaboration with partners in Market Access, Legal, Compliance, Medical, and Marketing.

Market Knowledge:

  • Uses data and market dynamics to develop opportunities and strategic plans.
  • Maintains knowledge of healthcare industry trends and interdependencies.
  • Drives innovation to exceed business objectives.
  • Manages resources and develops team capabilities through training programs.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in pharma, including leadership of customer-facing teams.
  • Experience with vaccines, buy & bill, or account management preferred; strategy and product launch experience highly valued.
  • Proven ability to influence high-level decision-makers and lead teams through change.
  • Deep healthcare industry knowledge and negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or higher preferred.
