A dynamic lifestyle brand seeks a contract-based Brand Strategist to craft compelling brand identities. You will lead brand discovery sessions, develop positioning frameworks, and collaborate with a creative team. Pop of Culture is a global lifestyle brand that supports and celebrates Black entrepreneurs, and creatives, particularly those in the fashion, beauty, wellness, and art industries. Through curated events, community engagement, networking opportunities, and access to resources, we're building an ecosystem that generates endless value.
POC Creative is our sister brand — a new full-service creative and brand management agency for lifestyle brands. We help clients craft standout identities and tell compelling stories that resonate.
From strategy and branding to content, social media, websites, and events—we create culturally aware, conversion-driven work that connects and lasts.
We're looking for a contract-based Brand Strategist to work with the AGENCY on a per-project basis. This role is ideal for designers who are passionate about crafting strong brand identities and want to collaborate with a growing agency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Lead or contribute to brand discovery sessions and client strategy interviews (live or async)
•Develop complete brand positioning frameworks including:
•Brand story, mission, vision, values
•Target audience personas (min. 3 per project)
•Brand voice, tone, and messaging pillars
•Taglines and brand messaging templates
•SWOT and competitor analysis
•Collaborate with the Creative Director to align visuals with strategy
•Provide written assets for social bios, landing pages, packaging, or newsletters as needed
•Prepare internal strategy decks and client-facing brand strategy presentations
•Participate in client kickoff and delivery meetings where applicable
•Support ongoing brand audits and monthly brand management evaluations (for retainer clients)
•Contribute to strategy consulting for brand refreshes, repositioning, and launch plans

WHO YOU ARE:
•At least 2 full years of professional experience in brand strategy, marketing, communications, or content development
•Strong storyteller with the ability to craft clear, compelling brand narratives that reflect each client’s vision
•Experience developing full brand positioning frameworks (story, mission, values, personas, voice, tagline)
•Confident in conducting light market research, SWOT analysis, and competitor audits
•
•Able to collaborate closely with designers, creative directors, and clients to align strategy with visuals
•Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects with shifting timelines
•Excellent communicator (written + verbal), especially in crafting clear strategy documentation and presenting ideas
•Proficient use of Google Workspace, Notion and Asana, Canva, Figma, Miro, and other project tools
•Basic knowledge of brand frameworks (e.g. archetypes, tone matrices, storytelling models)
COMPENSATION & PERKS
•₦100K–₦400K per project (depending on package scope)
•Potential for recurring work on brand management retainers or strategy-only clients
