Job summary

TLD is seeking a Buyer to support manufacturing operations by purchasing materials, components, and services for Ground Support Equipment. You will ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost efficiency by sourcing from a global supply base and engaging with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes MRPs, supplier negotiations, and continuous improvement within a fast-paced production environment in Windsor, CT. On-site work with a strong emphasis on teamwork and cost awareness.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of related purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to resolve supply chain, inventory, quality, and supplier-related issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience with an ERP system (Infor/Baan preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders based on MRP demand and requisitions.
• Analyze MRP demand and adjust orders to production schedule needs.
• Coordinate domestic and international transportation activities.
• Develop and maintain a supply base for on-time delivery and quality.
• Prepare RFQs and compare Total Cost of Ownership to identify best solutions.
• Negotiate with suppliers and drive cost reduction while reporting savings.
• Manage vendor warranty claims.
• Collaborate with Planning, Operations, and Engineering teams.
• Establish procedures to support continuous improvement.
