Job summary

Global Finishing Solutions (GFS) is seeking a Buyer to partner with our manufacturing and electrical teams to secure materials and services to support production. You will manage materials, balance inventory, cost, quality, and supplier performance while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to keep operations moving.

The role emphasizes planning with MRP/ERP, supplier relationship management, and data-driven decision making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience using MRP and ERP systems to plan and purchase materials.
• Ability to manage inventory levels and optimize material usage.
• Proven track record in evaluating supplier performance on cost, quality, and delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal teams and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Use MRP/production requirements to plan and purchase materials while maintaining inventory levels.
• Manage purchase orders and respond to changes in production schedules and supplier availability.
• Maintain ERP planning parameters including cost, lead times, safety stock, and order quantities.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and manage day-to-day ordering and delivery.
• Evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, performance, and business needs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Scheduling, Engineering, and other teams to resolve material issues.
• Address supplier/non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions and financial recovery.
• Balance material availability with inventory levels to optimize resources.
