Job summary

Carlson Store Fixtures is seeking a highly organized Logistics Coordinator to manage domestic and international freight activities, including shipment execution, rate management, and documentation. You will track shipments, communicate delays, and liaise with forwarders and internal teams to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires hands-on experience with freight forwarders, HTS classifications, and import/export documentation, with a focus on cost control and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, importing/exporting, or supply-chain operations.
• Experience coordinating shipments with freight forwarders and transportation providers.
• Strong understanding and ability to negotiate freight rates, transportation contracts, invoices, accessorial charges, and transportation cost control.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous active shipments and priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve international freight bookings and coordinate shipments by ocean, air, and expedited services.
• Obtain expedited and air-freight quotes as needed and maintain current freight rates.
• Monitor containers from origin through final delivery and communicate delays or changes promptly.
• Review and approve freight invoices for accuracy and track transportation costs against budgets.
• Support freight-provider negotiations and participate in outsourced transportation contracts when appropriate.
• Coordinate HTS classification requirements and import/export documentation and compliance.
• Work with freight forwarders, suppliers, internal teams, and partners to resolve shipment issues.
