• Maintain shipment records and update Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

• Review daily reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve shipment-related issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, carriers, and partners.
• Identify operational risks and assist in regulatory compliance.

Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Logistics Coordinator to join its team in Hazelwood, MO. This position is responsible for coordinating international freight shipments, managing documentation, communicating with customers and overseas partners, and ensuring shipments move efficiently while maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.

The ideal candidate will have prior freight forwarding experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate international air and ocean freight shipments, working closely with overseas agents, carriers, and transportation providers.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs), invoices, and other required international freight documents.
• Monitor shipments, provide tracking and tracing updates, and proactively address delays or service issues.
• Respond to customer inquiries, provide freight quotes, and ensure timely communication throughout the shipping process.
• Maintain accurate shipment records and update Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Ensure shipments comply with applicable international trade regulations, transportation requirements, and company procedures.
• Review daily operational reports, identify discrepancies, and resolve shipment-related issues.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, carriers, international agents, and internal teams.
• Identify potential operational risks and assist in maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
• Prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and service quality.
• Support additional logistics and operational responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in freight forwarding, international logistics, or transportation operations.
• Experience coordinating international air and/or ocean freight shipments.
• Knowledge of international shipping documentation, freight forwarding procedures, and transportation regulations.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills and data management.
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot shipment issues and provide effective solutions.Strong customer service skills and experience communicating with carriers, customers, and international partners.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize competing deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CSA, World-Trak, or similar freight forwarding software.
• Familiarity with international trade compliance and shipping regulations.
• Experience coordinating with overseas freight agents and transportation partners.
