Job summary

Dahl Consulting in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Gateway Agent for a 6-month contract. You will coordinate international shipments, prepare documentation, and maintain shipment data while communicating with customers, carriers, overseas offices and partners.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in global freight forwarding, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of global freight forwarding experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage processes, documentation, and terminology associated with international shipping from purchase order issuance through cargo delivery.
• Prepare, process, and assemble required documentation for air, LCL, and FCL shipments.
• Ensure shipping documentation is accurate and provided to carriers, customers, and agents in a timely manner.
• Coordinate shipment activities according to SOPs.
• Submit Shipper's Letters of Instructions to carriers and process ocean export bills of lading and other required documentation.
• Track shipments, provide updates, and support invoicing activities.
