Dahl Consulting is seeking an Associate Global Forwarding Agent in Southfield, MI, to support international shipments from origin to destination. This contract role focuses on coordination, data accuracy, and customer service within a global logistics context.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology from purchase order issuance through final cargo delivery.
• Respond to customer inquiries and support shipment-related requests with accurate information.
• Coordinate and execute shipment activities according to SOPs.
• Maintain data accuracy throughout the shipment lifecycle: shipment details, Incoterms, routing, schedules, documentation, and milestones.
• Prepare and deliver customer quotations of low to moderate complexity while learning pricing structures and transportation costs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, international offices, agents, carriers, and third-party vendors to ensure timely shipment execution.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support operations.
• Ensure customer SOPs are followed and operational requirements are met.
• Support additional logistics, transportation, and administrative activities as assigned.

Job Description

As an Associate Global Forwarding Agent, you will support the end-to-end coordination of international shipments while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of international shipping processes, documentation, and terminology from purchase order issuance through final cargo delivery.
• Apply foundational industry knowledge to respond to customer inquiries and support shipment-related requests.
• Coordinate and execute shipment activities in accordance with customer standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain a high level of data accuracy throughout the shipment lifecycle, including shipment details, Incoterms, routing information, schedules, documentation, and delivery milestones.
• Prepare and deliver customer quotations of low to moderate complexity while developing an understanding of pricing structures and transportation costs.
• Communicate effectively with customers, international offices, agents, carriers, and third-party vendors to ensure timely shipment execution.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage internal resources to resolve operational challenges and meet customer expectations.
• Ensure customer SOPs are consistently followed and operational requirements are met.
• Support additional logistics, transportation, and administrative activities as assigned.
