Job summary

FedEx Freight in Memphis, TN, seeks an experienced International Freight Specialist to ensure efficient movement and clearance of shipments while training International Reps and updating procedures. The role requires at least two years in international transportation or customs clearance, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Outlook and Excel.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years of international transportation, freight forwarding, or customs clearance experience.
• Strong knowledge of international operations; FedEx International operations preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual English-French preferred.
• Proficient Outlook and Excel skills.
• Typing/data entry skills.
• Excellent research, problem solving and negotiating skills.
• Must be well organized and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced team environment.
• Must be self-motivated with a high level of initiative and able to make independent decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise applicable to movement and clearance of international shipments.
• Develop and implement new methods and procedures to enhance regulatory compliance.
• Provide training and technical support to Intl Reps.
• Resolve complex issues to ensure proper documentation for international shipments.
• Communicate potential delays and provide solutions to prevent future delays.
• Evaluate documents for compliance with US regulations and import requirements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers regarding paperwork and clearance delays.
• Provide expert level international customer support including guidance on documentation.
• Enter data documenting shipment history and event activity.
• Comply with laws/regulations and company policies.
