Job summary

CFS, a market-leading manufacturer with a strong financial backing, is seeking a Controller to own the full finance function in the Greater Hartford area. You will advise both operational and executive leadership while supporting budgeting, cost analysis, and strategic projects.

You will oversee month-end close, tax compliance, and collaborate with global teams on product costing and reporting. A structured transition plan and overlap with the current incumbent are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Previous Controller experience in a small or lean environment preferred or Senior Accountant ready to move up.
• Ability to independently manage the full accounting cycle with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP, AR, invoicing, collections, payroll and banking.
• Lead month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting and audit support.
• Oversee tax compliance, filings, payments, and coordination with external tax advisors.
• Support budgeting, business planning, cost analysis and strategic projects with leadership.
• Collaborate with global teams on product costing, reporting, and operational initiatives.
