Job summary

CFS in West Hartford, CT is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a growing manufacturing accounting team. You will manage monthly close, financial reporting, and reconciliations while collaborating with the Controller and leadership.

The role offers exposure to manufacturing costs, inventory analysis, budgeting, and internal controls. A CPA is not required, but strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and ERP familiarity are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
• Experience with an ERP system preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reporting.
• Analyze inventory, manufacturing costs, and variances.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and reconciliations.
• Help identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Work closely with operations and other departments throughout the organization.
• Assist with audit preparation and other special projects as needed.
