Job summary

The Controller at CFS leads the accounting and financial operations for a growing organization, blending strategic leadership with hands-on accounting oversight. You will partner with senior leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and timely decision-making.

You'll manage month-end close, financial statements, and ERP enhancements while mentoring a high-performing accounting team in a manufacturing/distribution setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience as a Controller or similar.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience overseeing month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and partner with executive leadership.
• Manufacturing, distribution, inventory-centric experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Fixed Assets, and Inventory Accounting.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Maintain GAAP, SOX, and other financial regulations.
• Develop and monitor KPIs to support operational and financial performance.
• Partner with leadership across operations, sales, purchasing, and other functions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting processes, systems, and controls.
• Support ERP optimization and financial system enhancements.
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors.
• Assist with capital expenditure planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
