Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide in-field troubleshooting, repair, and startup support for instruments, with a focus on maintaining logs and delivering high customer satisfaction.

This role emphasizes hands-on service, training, and collaboration across departments to ensure continuous operations. The position requires travel about two weeks per month to engage customers directly, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality in all service activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus an associates, technical certificate, or military electronics training.
• Experience with electronics and testing equipment (oscilloscopes, voltmeters).
• Previous field service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-house troubleshooting, repair, and testing of customer instruments.
• Assist with in-house and in-field troubleshooting of customer instruments.
• Submit accurate Instrument Repair Logs with diagnosis, repair estimates, and descriptions.
• Provide technical and operational support to customers via phone, email, and other channels.
• Issue Service Request Forms for in-house repairs.
• Stay informed on new methods and maintenance procedures.
• Keep management informed of customer issues and technical problems.
• Collaborate with other departments to support customers.
• Coordinate with customers to schedule in-field services.
• Travel typically 2 weeks per month, Monday to Friday, for direct customer engagement.
