Job summary

Hermle USA, Inc. in Franklin, Wisconsin seeks a Field Service Engineer to commission and install CNC machining centers, train customers, and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues at customer sites. The role requires extensive travel, including international, and hands-on work with Heidenhain/Siemens controls.

You will support production at customer sites, install retrofits, and assist distributors with technical issues, using strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on machine tools.
• Knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Siemens control systems.
• Proficient with electronic and mechanical aspects of CNC machines, preferably 5-axis.
• Understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics in machine tools.
• Proficiency with computers and software tools used in machine maintenance.
• Strong communication with customers and team members.
• MS Office knowledge is mandatory.
• Extensive travel is required (including international).

Responsibilities

• Commissioning and installing CNC machining centers at customer sites.
• Briefing and training customers on operation and maintenance; assist with application questions.
• Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues at customer sites and providing solutions.
• Provide production support at customer sites.
• Troubleshooting and solving control-related issues.
• Install retrofits and upgrades on equipment.
• Provide technical support to distributors.
