Job summary

JAS Forwarding (USA), Inc. seeks an Export Specialist to facilitate movement of products via ocean or air freight in compliance with laws and internal policies. The role includes handling bookings, documentation, and customer service related to rates and status updates.

Requirements include 3+ years export experience, strong organization, excellent communication, English fluency, and knowledge of US customs procedures. Office-based role in Atlanta, GA with team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience handling Exports (air and/or ocean) or combination of education and expertise required.
• Excellent organizational skills and communication abilities.
• Flexibility and detail orientation to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of US customs laws, practices and procedures.
• Experience in the freight forwarding industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate export documentation for lawful execution of export activities.
• Coordinate cargo pickup/transfer and monitor status.
• Communicate with authorities, customers and suppliers across territories.
• Obtain spot rates when necessary and communicate with overseas agents/clients.
• Track shipments and update customers/agents with status.
• Create and maintain customer files and invoices, and audit for accuracy.
• Assist other departments as needed and perform additional duties.
