Job summary

UT Austin seeks a Sponsored and Exchange Program Coordinator to manage international student processing, records, and data across sponsored and exchange programs. The role reports to the assistant director for student advising services and supports 9 units and 140 staff.

You will oversee immigration processes, collaborate with ISSS leadership, and develop support frameworks for students while ensuring compliance and service excellence. UT Austin offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and five years of professional international student experience.
• Experience advising F-1 and J-1 students in higher education.
• Ability to implement creative solutions and work in a fast-paced team.
• Strong professional and intercultural communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to multitask and keep projects organized and on deadline.
• Strong computer and technological proficiency.
• Commitment to high-quality and efficient customer service.
• Equivalent combination or substitution of relevant education and experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Sponsored and Exchange Administrative Coordination.
• Manage applications and immigration processes as DHS DSO and ARO for sponsored/exchange students.
• Oversee student information systems with data integrity and cross-system synchronization.
• Develop integrated support frameworks addressing sponsored/exchange student needs.
• Supervise and develop graduate assistants for the student advising team.
• Collaborate with ISSS leadership on immigration regulations and university policies.
• Serve as primary resource for challenging exchange and sponsored student questions.
• Liaise with academic departments, admissions teams, and Education Abroad advising.
• Cultivate reciprocal exchange partnerships and maintain agency relationships.
• Create content for websites and publications communicating procedures with branding standards.
• Develop digital platforms and publications communicating admission and immigration requirements.
• Contribute to the vision for programming empowering sponsored/exchange students.
• Design and deliver training workshops for students and stakeholders.
