Job summary

Coinbase seeks an Employment Counsel to provide day-to-day employment law guidance globally. You will counsel HR partners on performance, discipline, and exits, and advise on cross-border issues with outside counsel.

Manage employment agreements, HR compliance, and AI tool deployments while supporting litigation and regulatory developments. You will operate within a remote-first, globally minded legal team, reporting to the Employment Legal group, and help expand Coinbase’s compliance program

Qualifications

• J.D. with active U.S. state bar membership and 5+ years of employment law experience, including in-house work.
• Experience advising HR on performance, discipline, leaves, accommodations, and terminations.
• Litigation and administrative charges experience with outside counsel coordination.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment law counseling across global workforce.
• Advise on international employment matters with local counsel and HR.
• Support employment agreement workflows and relocation letters.
• Oversee AI tools deployment compliance for hiring and HR.
• Ensure HR compliance, EEO-1 reporting, OFCCP, and pay equity efforts.
• Assist with employment litigation, discovery, and filings.
• Translate regulatory developments into practical HR guidance.
