Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking an Employment Counsel to join the Employment Legal team. You will counsel on day-to-day employment law matters for a 5,000-employee global workforce and support HR compliance, agreements, and AI tool deployments under a governance framework.

The role covers performance management, terminations, accommodations and leaves, with a focus on cross-border issues and regulatory developments. This is a remote-first position with quarterly in-person surges.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active U.S. state bar membership.
• 5+ years of employment law experience, including in-house advising HR.
• Experience with performance management, terminations, accommodations and leaves.
• Familiar with international employment matters and AI regulatory landscape.

Responsibilities

• Own a people-relations counseling portfolio across performance, discipline, accommodations and exits.
• Advise on international employment matters across 20+ countries with HR and outside counsel.
• Support employment agreement workflows, offers, separations, transfers and relocations.
• Drive compliance for AI tool deployments in recruiting and HR under the framework.
• Collaborate on HR compliance including EEO-1, OFCCP and pay equity.
• Assist with employment litigation, EEOC statements, discovery and holds.
• Monitor developments in employment law and translate into practical guidance.
