Job summary

Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale seeks a Global Director, Environmental Health & Safety to define and lead the company’s global EHS vision, strategy, and governance. You will guide a globally distributed team and partner with senior leaders to embed safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance across locations.

This role drives program design, ensures compliance with international regulations, and uses data‑driven insights to improve performance while aligning with business growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
• Advanced degree preferred (MS, MPH, MBA).
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, CPE, or equivalent.
• 12+ years of progressive leadership in EHS within regulated environments.
• Experience leading global or multi-site EHS organizations.
• Strong knowledge of international EHS regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global EHS strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
• Lead global EHS programs, standards, and management systems.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across international locations.
• Establish governance processes to monitor program effectiveness.
• Drive safety culture, environmental performance, and risk reduction.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a global EHS team.
