Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Director, EHS - Assurance and Risk to provide enterprise-wide oversight of Environmental, Health & Safety performance. The role leads the global assurance strategy across manufacturing, commercial, and distribution operations, ensuring compliance, risk identification, and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The candidate will drive audits, compliance verification, and CAPA effectiveness, collaborating with leadership to strengthen EHS governance and ERM

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience in EHS leadership
• Global, regulated industry experience (medical device/pharma)
• Experience leading multi-site audits and internal auditing teams
• Strong executive presence with senior leadership/board experience
• Experience integrating EHS into enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead global EHS assurance and audit program
• Oversee internal EHS audits and assurance audits across regions
• Drive ISO 14001/45001 certification and audit methodologies
• Maintain enterprise EHS risk register and risk mitigation strategies
• Provide independent insights on trends, risks, and systemic issues
• Develop and train internal auditors and governance processes
• Collaborate with regional leaders to strengthen compliance frameworks
• Report assurance data to leadership for informed decision-making
