Job summary

Stryker seeks a Director of EHS Assurance and Risk to provide enterprise-wide oversight of Environmental, Health & Safety performance. The role leads global assurance strategy across manufacturing, commercial, and distribution, ensuring compliance, risk identification, and a culture of accountability.

The role drives audits, CAPA, governance, and training to strengthen EHS systems and report transparently to senior leadership. Onsite presence at multiple locations is required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of work experience required.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in a global, regulated industry.
• 4+ years of people management experience highly preferred.
• Deep expertise in EHS auditing, compliance, and risk management systems.
• Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership or Board-level audiences.
• Experience integrating EHS into enterprise risk management frameworks.
• Experience in a global, regulated industry (medical device, pharma, or similar).
• Deep expertise across multiple EHS disciplines (industrial hygiene, process safety, environmental compliance, radiation safety).
• Demonstrated experience leading global standards, systems, and technical programs.
• Proven ability to lead a certified and trained internal auditing team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of the global EHS assurance and audit program.
• Oversee internal EHS audits and assurance audits across regions and units.
• Identify compliance gaps and ensure timely escalation and resolution.
• Own and maintain the enterprise EHS risk register.
• Develop and deliver clear compliance and assurance data for leadership.
• Establish CAPA processes and monitor effectiveness.
• Promote transparency and continuous improvement through training and governance.
