Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Director, EHS - Assurance and Risk to provide enterprise-wide oversight of Environmental, Health & Safety performance across manufacturing, commercial and distribution operations. You will lead the global EHS assurance strategy, ensure robust audit programs, and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires deep expertise in auditing, risk management, and regulatory compliance, with multi-site leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of work experience required.
• 7+ years of progressive EHS leadership with multi-site/global scope preferred.
• 4+ years of people management experience preferred.
• Deep expertise in EHS auditing, compliance, and risk management systems.
• Strong executive presence with experience presenting to senior leadership/board audiences.
• MBA, MS or similar advanced degree preferred; CSP/CIH certifications preferred.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of the global EHS assurance and audit program.
• Oversee internal EHS audits and assurance audits across regions and business units.
• Ensure audits assess regulatory compliance and management system effectiveness.
• Drive ISO 14001/45001 certification and standardization of audit methodologies.
• Responsible for inspecting multiple sites as the lead auditor of internal EHS standards.
• Schedule compliance audits and verify ongoing regulatory compliance.
• Own and maintain the enterprise EHS risk register and integrate into ERM frameworks.
• Provide independent insights on trends, risks, and systemic issues to leadership.
• Develop an auditors training course and build a certified internal auditor group.
• Promote transparency and continuous improvement across Stryker.
