Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Global Education Advisor II to support international student mobility and study abroad programs. The role advises students, reviews transfer credits, and coordinates faculty-led and external opportunities abroad, while collaborating with staff across the Office of Global Engagement.

The position emphasizes risk management, training staff, promoting opportunities on campus and beyond, and maintaining strong communication with faculty and students.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

  • Meets with students for scheduled advising appointments and walk-in hours.
  • Evaluates course equivalences for study abroad transfer credit and updates the articulation database.
  • Advises on UGA faculty-led programs, affiliate and consortia programs, USG programs, external programs, and work and volunteer opportunities abroad; directs students to appropriate advisor or campus office when particular circumstances cannot be handled directly in OGE.
  • Organizes and delivers marketing and informational sessions; assists with training Junior Advisors and student staff; supports risk management and compliance for education abroad programs.
