Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks an Academic Advisor II for the Office of Undergraduate Advising to guide assigned caseloads of undergraduate students. You will interpret degree requirements, advise on course selection, and maintain detailed electronic notes and student records.

You will assist with referrals, study abroad, tutoring, and other academic resources, while communicating policies and timelines. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., on campus.

Qualifications

• Interprets degree requirements and communicates them to students, faculty and staff.
• Maintains accurate and thorough electronic student records and notes.
• Explains policies and procedures and helps students navigate advising steps.
• Advises via in-person and Zoom appointments, emails and calls.

Responsibilities

• Advises directly with assigned Exercise and Sport Science and Sport Management students.
• Maintains knowledge of majors and university requirements and policies.
• Supports students in course selection and educational experiences.
• Evaluates student progress toward goals and assists in decision making.
• Guides students facing academic difficulties and refers to appropriate resources.
• Provides timely updates to the Office of Undergraduate Advising.
