Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking an Executive Director, Clinical Development to lead and support the development of CNS programs, including neuropsychiatric disorders and rare diseases. The role emphasizes global strategy, medical oversight, and cross‑functional collaboration to advance compounds through development stages.

The ideal candidate has MD-level credentials and 10+ years in pharma with strong leadership, communication, and regulatory experience. Some travel is anticipated.

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent; Board Certified/Eligible strongly preferred.
• 10 years of relevant medical/clinical practice or academia within pharma.
• Experience across several development phases.
• Established relationships with thought leaders in mood disorders.
• Experience with rare disease/neurology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute global clinical development plans.
• Oversee planning, implementation and interpretation of clinical studies; synopsis/protocols, monitoring, data analysis, final reports.
• Maintain relationships with investigators and centers of excellence.
• Interact with sites for recruitment and study conduct quality.
• Communicate program issues to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support regulatory interactions and submissions.
