Job summary

Wing is seeking a Sourcing Lead, Direct based onsite in Palo Alto, CA to drive the hardware supply chain strategy and lead a global team of sourcing managers. You will partner with engineering, operations, legal and finance to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, scalable hardware delivery while meeting compliance standards.

You will mentor the team, collaborate with contract manufacturers, and influence design-to-production decisions across multiple cross-functional teams, including suppliers

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in global supplier relationships and bringing high-volume products from concept to mass production.
• 5+ years of directly managing global supply chain teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred, but equivalent practical experience in supply chain, manufacturing, military service, or consulting will be considered.
• Ability to have hard conversations with peers, direct reports and partners while preserving trust and relationships.
• Ability to switch between teaching, coaching and mentoring seamlessly based on individual needs of the team.
• Operate across multiple cross functional teams and projects with insight into details while keeping end goal in focus.
• Ability to learn and dive deep into technology and challenges while maintaining fast operational pace.
• Skilled negotiator, developing leverage for new technology and industry in complex deals.
• Experience structuring and negotiating legal frameworks for IP, Master Supply Agreements, Capex schedules, and SOWs.
• Experience-based knowledge of cost structures for electromechanical commodities.
• AI-forward approach to automation to boost team productivity.
• Led scaling of products through proto, EVT, DVT, PVT, MP stages.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial engagement and sourcing strategy for the full hardware supply chain across aircraft and ground infrastructure.
• Critically evaluate current supplier portfolio and create long-term strategy for each commodity and technology.
• Mentor, coach and close negotiations to secure best contractual terms and pricing.
• Partner with internal teams, suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure quality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with engineering to drive partner selection from concept through mass production.
• Create strategy and playbook for new supplier market research, qualification and industrialization.
• Assess and mitigate long-term supply chain risk, especially in regulated markets.
• Mentor team in developing long-term supplier relationships globally.
• Build trust and scalable processes with cross-functional teams.
