Job summary

Starbucks Coffee Company is seeking a director of planning and business operations within Global Design and Innovation. The role leads long-range planning, partners with Finance, and drives governance across multiple regions and teams to align strategy with enterprise priorities.

The position requires 5+ years of strategic planning experience, exceptional communication, and the ability to lead in a matrixed, hybrid environment. Onsite four days a week.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in strategic planning and business operations within a large, global organization.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple regions and functions.
• Strong analytical skills to synthesize large data sets for executive decisions.
• Proven ability to influence without direct authority in a hybrid, matrixed model.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual and long-range planning for Global Design and Innovation with cross-functional input.
• Partner with Finance to shape organizational, talent, and financial strategies and reporting.
• Oversee rhythm of business, metrics, reviews, and enterprise-aligned governance.
• Support senior leaders with strategic communications, meeting prep, and forums.
• Advance design system strategy, governance, and global design integration.
• Foster alignment across global markets via leadership summits and reviews.
• Represent the function in enterprise planning systems and governance discussions.
