Job summary

Starbucks Corp. seeks a Lead Engineer for the Integrated Planning System in Seattle, a hybrid role. You will own end-to-end delivery of data services UI, lead architecture for streaming and big data processing, and drive AI-enabled decision support across the planning platform.

You will mentor teams, shape API contracts, ensure data quality, and uphold reliability with strong security practices while collaborating across product, data, and program teams to deliver measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting large-scale, multi-service platforms.
• Proven ability to design streaming data pipelines and event-driven systems.
• Strong background in building production APIs and services.
• Hands-on cloud experience across Azure/AWS/GCP.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data service capabilities, from concept to production.
• Lead architecture decisions across streaming, APIs, data modeling, and UI experiences.
• Establish AI-enabled development workflow with guardrails and templates.
• Define API contracts and deprecation strategies for forward-compatibility.
• Drive data quality, identity governance, and reliable master data practices.
• Maintain SLOs, observability, and security across services.
