Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect to lead deep, technical engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations to AWS-native targets such as Aurora, RDS, and Amazon DSQL, leveraging DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI tooling.

You will build prototypes and reusable artifacts for customer engagements, mentor other SAs, and influence the product roadmap. Expect travel up to 30% to meet customers and run workshops.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• 5+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and/or native/third-party replication tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes/demos and GenAI-based migration tooling.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations to AWS-native targets.
• Serve as a domain expert across the migration toolchain — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI tools.
• Deep-dive into migration challenges to unblock timelines and ensure customer success.
• Build prototypes, demos, and reusable artifacts for customer engagements using GenAI tooling.
• Represent the voice of the customer to influence the product roadmap.
• Provide advanced technical knowledge to GTM and account teams to unblock migration challenges.
• Act as a thought leader through AWS blogs, whitepapers and workshops.
• Create scalable field enablement and mentor other Specialist SAs.
