Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect to lead deep, technical database migrations to AWS-native targets and to scale expertise across the field.

You will work with AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI tools, mentor others, influence roadmaps, and travel up to 30% to engage with enterprise customers. This role requires 8+ years in infrastructure and 10+ years in IT development, with a strong record migrating legacy solutions to the cloud.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure and database architecture, plus networking experience.
• 5+ years in software development, cloud, systems engineering, security, data & analytics.
• 10+ years IT development or consulting in software/Internet industries.
• Experience migrating legacy solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, or replication tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes and demos.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on database migrations to AWS-native targets.
• Serve as domain expert across the migration toolchain (DMS, Schema Conversion, GenAI tools).
• Troubleshoot replication, performance, schema, and data-validation challenges hands-on.
• Build prototypes, demos, and reusable artifacts for customer engagements with GenAI tools.
• Represent voice of the customer to influence product roadmap and field enablement.
• Support GTM and account teams with advanced migration knowledge and escalations.
• Be a thought leader through blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and workshops.
• Create scalable field enablement and mentor other Specialist SAs.
