Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. seeks a Sr. Specialist Solutions Architect to lead deep, technical engagements on heterogeneous and homogeneous database migrations to AWS-native targets such as Aurora and RDS.

You will harness AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and GenAI-based tooling to prototype solutions and deliver reference architectures across industries. You will mentor other Specialists, enable field teams, and communicate customer feedback to influence product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience.
• 5+ years of technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering) experience.
• 10+ years IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of SQL, Linux, OLAP, and relational, NoSQL & multi-dimensional databases.
• Database migration experience — AWS DMS, Schema Conversion, and/or native/third-party tools.
• GenAI developer tools (Kiro, Claude/Claude CLI) for prototypes/demos.

Responsibilities

• Lead deep, technical customer engagements on database migrations to AWS-native targets like Aurora, RDS, and Amazon DSQL.
• Serve as a domain expert across the migration toolchain (DMS, Schema Conversion, GenAI-based tools).
• Investigate and resolve complex migration challenges—replication, performance, schema, and data-validation.
• Build prototypes, demos, and artifacts using GenAI tools to accelerate proofs of concept.
• Represent customer voice to influence product roadmap and provide advanced knowledge to GTM and account teams.
