Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Operations Manager to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams responsible for global data center infrastructure. You will optimize processes, drive performance to meet rapid growth, and manage relationships with internal teams and external vendors across multiple sites.

The role requires IT experience, people management, and data center operations expertise, with travel to active facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Information Technology (IT) experience or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center facilities, mission critical plants, or production facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring the highest levels of performance.
• Maintaining existing Data Centers
• Helping build and bring online new Data Centers
• Constantly improving all processes and procedures; driving positive changes
• Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors & contractors
• Liaising with internal teams & management groups
• Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards in all Data Centers
• Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of Data Centers and using them to drive changes
• Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident, problem, change, and capacity management.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
