Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a seasoned design and engineering professional to join the Inside Plant Design and Engineering Team. You will collaborate with engineers and managers across the company to develop capacity management solutions for the physical layer in data centers and edge sites.

Responsibilities include delivering scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs, automating routing of the physical layer, coordinating turn‑ups, and traveling to AWS data centers.

Qualifications

• Experience translating design concepts into deployable data-center plans.
• 5+ years of construction or project management experience.
• Experience defining data center system‑level architecture and documenting requirements.
• 2+ years IT experience or cabling infrastructure principles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs.
• Develop an automated solution for routing the physical layer.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to meet capacity, network, and turn‑up timelines.
• Identify risks and address high‑priority issues quickly.
• Support New Product Introduction to improve infrastructure quality and reduce costs.
• Travel 20%+ to review projects and coordinate with onsite teams.
