Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ICT Design Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for the physical layer in data centers. You will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs and work with suppliers to define product requirements while exploring emerging technologies.

Your role includes creating construction and permitting documentation, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting scalable infrastructure projects that balance safety, reliability, and cost.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power facilities, or similar.
• Experience developing design documentation (plans, specs) for construction/permitting.
• Knowledge of fiber optic components, cabling, interconnect products, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable ICT pathway, cabling and equipment designs and specifications.
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly.
• Support new technology and design activities that reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS Data Centers.
