Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Customs Compliance Specialist in Illinois to analyze customs documentation and ensure regulatory compliance. You will review classifications, codes, and country of origin while assisting clients and suppliers with top-tier service.

Responsibilities include onboarding new customers, auditing entries, and daily statement processing, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to federal requirements.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of customer service/general office data entry experience.
• Customs Brokerage License strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to project a professional image to customers and represent AIT positively.

Responsibilities

• Audit and complete entry files, POAs and duty payments via ACH.
• Onboard new customers with POAs and work on HTS codes with clients.
• Review documentation for accuracy, verify country of origin/export, IOR and terms of sale.
• Report and manage statement processing daily.
• Audit documents and apply HTS codes for accurate duty assessment.
• Handle file breakdowns, data entry, photocopying and scanning of entries.
• Provide customer service to clients and suppliers; maintain revenues from client base.
