Job summary

Ocean Optics, a leader in optical sensing, seeks a Customer Service Specialist (Temp to Hire) in San Mateo, CA. You will be the primary touchpoint for customers, coordinating orders and working with sales, engineering and operations to ensure a smooth process from inquiry to delivery.

You will book orders, provide timely communication, support repairs and calibrations, and help improve the customer experience while maintaining accurate records in our systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing customer orders, order processing, and customer interactions.
• Experience with Salesforce, Office 365, and D365.
• Self-starter with a track record of exceptional performance and goal achievement.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a genuine love for customer interaction.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Book customer orders accurately and support the full order process from entry through delivery.
• Act as a key customer contact and ensure timely, professional communication.
• Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Finance, Production, Shipping, and the global Customer Service team to support customer needs.
• Support service-related customer requests, including repairs, calibrations, and follow-up communication.
• Maintain accurate customer and order information in the relevant systems.
