Job summary

Orion Placement seeks a high-impact accounting leader to oversee global accounting operations, drive timely financial reporting, and strengthen controls. You will manage domestic and international teams, oversee cost and inventory accounting, and partner with leadership to influence financial performance.

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Proven accounting team leadership and management experience required.
• Strong progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls.
• Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with inventory accounting and product costing preferred.
• International or multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS experience valued.
• Audits, transfer pricing, cash management, and banking relationships experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead domestic and international accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Oversee accounting managers and teams responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, and related functions.
• Manage month-end and quarter-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting, inventory controls, product costing, COGS, and gross margin reporting.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, local accounting requirements, and internal control standards.
• Oversee financial reporting and accounting activities for international subsidiaries.
• Support transfer pricing, international audits, tax reporting, and intercompany transactions.
• Manage banking relationships, cash management, wire and ACH controls, hedging activities, and insurance-related financial matters.
• Lead finance-related technology initiatives, system improvements, reporting automation, and process standardization.
• Support due diligence activities related to acquisitions, financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, streamline processes, and increase efficiency.
• Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial information.
• Hire, coach, develop, and provide leadership to accounting professionals across the organization.
