Job summary

HIMSS, a global health IT leader, seeks an accomplished leader to direct its accounting operations. The role ensures a complete, accurate financial close, enforces policies and internal controls, and supports audited financial statements for HIMSS and affiliated entities.

Responsibilities include managing AR/AP, payroll, and foreign tax compliance, driving system improvements with NetSuite, and guiding the CFO and executive team on GAAP and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; MS or MBA preferred.
• CPA preferred
• 10+ years experience in industry or public accounting, including managing remote teams and international operations.
• Strong leadership, ethics, and mentoring skills; able to drive results.
• Experience with NetSuite and financial systems enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Accounting Department for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Develop and enforce financial policies to safeguard assets.
• Oversee accounts receivable, including billing and cash application.
• Oversee accounts payable, payroll processing, and tax compliance.
• Ensure GAAP compliance for currency translation and foreign tax liabilities.
• Lead system enhancements and coordinate with NetSuite, Concur, ADP.
• Direct audit work papers and reconciliations; support external audits and tax filings.
• Provide leadership and guidance on accounting policies and financial reporting.
