Customer.io is a remote-first, globally distributed company seeking a Global Controller to lead the close, books, and control environment. You will manage a growing team across revenue accounting, close, payroll, and treasury, partnering with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

The role requires deep US GAAP expertise, strong leadership, and a proven track record with external audits. Remote, international exposure is essential as we scale globally.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership of a team.
• Big 4 public accounting foundation or equivalent.
• Deep US GAAP expertise, especially ASC 606 for subscription revenue.
• Experience automating accounting processes and reducing close time.
• Experience managing external audits and keeping books audit-ready.

Aufgaben

• Lead monthly and quarterly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations to deliver US GAAP financials.
• Own revenue accounting and ASC 606, including ARR-to-GAAP bridge explanations to leadership and board.
• Author technical accounting memos on contract modifications and variable consideration.
• Manage equity compensation accounting (ASC 718) and cap-table integrity.
• Grow and manage a team of ~7 across accounting functions.
• Build a global control framework for a remote-first company and audit readiness.
• Oversee accounting systems roadmap and drive close/reporting automation.
• Handle treasury operations and FX exposure monitoring.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax partners.
