Job summary

True Classic, based in Calabasas, CA, is seeking a Controller to own our global controllership across accounting, treasury, tax and compliance. You will ensure the integrity of financial statements, close the books accurately and on time, and build systems and controls to scale with our omnichannel business.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the accounting organization including an Assistant Controller, payables, payroll, staff accountants and offshore partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years progressive accounting and controllership experience, including leading full-function in consumer products, retail or ecommerce.
• Deep inventory and cost accounting expertise: weighted average costing, landed cost, reserves, shrink and cycle counts.
• Experience building and managing hybrid teams across onshore and offshore resources, with strong communication.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, commercial, technology and people teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial statements across all entities and channels.
• Maintain full compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements in every jurisdiction.
• Produce channel-level P&L with product cost, duties, fulfillment and overhead.
• Own product costs and inventory valuation, including landed cost and variance analysis.
• Oversee revenue recognition across channels under ASC 606 and related policies.
• Direct treasury and cash management, including weekly forecasts and intercompany funding.
• Lead payables, receivables and payroll across the organization.
• Manage tax, audit and compliance, including filings and relationships with auditors.
• Drive internal controls, reconciliations and automation across the accounting stack.
