Job summary

Confidential Family Office is seeking an experienced Senior Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, treasury, and compliance across a diverse portfolio of entities and investments. This high-visibility role partners with executive leadership and outside advisors to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

The Senior Controller will oversee the close process, consolidate statements, manage intercompany activity, and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting operations and general ledger for multiple entities, including investment, operating, and holding companies.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial records prepared by the accounting team.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules for executive leadership.
• Perform variance analysis and deliver financial reports and insights to executive leadership and, as needed, the family.
• Ensure proper accounting for intercompany transactions, distributions, capital activity, and investment-related transactions.
• Oversee accounting records for a diversified investment portfolio, including private investments, funds, and marketable securities.
• Track capital calls, distributions, commitments, and investment balances across the portfolio.
• Monitor daily cash positions and liquidity across multiple entities, escalating funding needs as appropriate.
• Coordinate cash movements and funding between entities, ensuring appropriate controls and approvals.
• Oversee treasury activities and foreign currency transactions as needed.
• Serve as a primary accounting liaison with external tax advisors and auditors, alongside the CFO
• Oversee preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for annual tax filings and financial statement audits
• Monitor tax calendars and coordinate timely payments and filings
• Ensure accounting records appropriately support tax reporting and regulatory compliance
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies across the organization
• Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting accuracy
• Lead accounting system enhancements, ERP implementations, and related technology initiatives
• Maintain and update documentation of accounting policies and internal procedures
• Lead or support special projects and strategic initiatives as directed by executive leadership
• Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team, including staff and junior accountants
• Serve as a key point of escalation and backup to the CFO on accounting and reporting matters
• Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture with a strong emphasis on accountability and continuous improvement
