Job summary

K&L Gates seeks a Global Controller to lead its worldwide accounting operations and set strategic direction for financial reporting, payroll, treasury, and controls. The role requires guiding a globally dispersed team, implementing policies, and driving process improvements across more than 40 offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and CPA or equivalent qualification.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/financial management experience.
• 5+ years in a controller or senior equivalent role; leadership of finance personnel.
• Experience in professional services or law firm environments preferred.
• Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency accounting globally.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and external audit experience.
• Proficiency with enterprise accounting and billing systems (3E or Aderant); Oracle/SAP a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee accounting functions across 40+ offices worldwide.
• Oversee financial reporting, payroll, treasury, and internal controls.
• Lead external audits and manage audit remediation activities.
• Develop accounting policies, drive process improvements and system optimization.
• Mentor and develop a global accounting team of 40+ professionals.
• Collaborate with CFO and FP&A on planning, analysis, and forecasting.
