Job summary

K&L Gates is seeking a Global Controller to lead the firm’s worldwide accounting operations, including financial reporting, payroll, treasury, and internal controls across 40+ offices. Reporting to CFO, you’ll partner with leadership to drive financial strategy and efficiency.

You will manage a dispersed team, implement accounting policies, oversee external audits, and advance process automation. Strong GAAP knowledge and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA required (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience, incl. controller level.
• Experience in professional services or law-firm environment desirable.
• GAAP knowledge and multi-jurisdictional compliance experience.
• Leadership of large finance teams across multiple offices.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the accounting function across 40+ offices globally.
• Oversee financial reporting: income statements, balance sheets, cash flows.
• Manage external audits and regulatory filings; implement internal controls.
• Lead policy development and process improvements; drive system optimization.
• Mentor and develop a large accounting team; provide salary recommendations.
