Job summary

The Global Controller at K&L Gates leads the firm’s worldwide accounting operations, directing general ledger, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting across 40+ offices. You ensure regulatory compliance, internal controls, and accurate financial results while modernizing systems and processes.

You will manage a dispersed team, collaborate with the CFO and leadership, and drive policy development, risk management, and strategic financial initiatives for a major global law firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA required (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and financial management experience.
• Experience in professional services, law firm, or partnership environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting.
• Lead a multi-country team; develop policies, controls, and financial processes.
• Coordinate external audits, ensure compliance with GAAP and multi-jurisdictional standards.
• Partner with leadership on forecasting, analysis, and strategic initiatives.
