Job summary

Biogen, Inc. in North Carolina is seeking a Logistics Engineer to join the Global Distribution Packaging & Shipping Qualification team. You will lead design, development, testing, and support of clinical, commercial, and cold-chain distribution packaging to meet temperature-controlled supply chain needs.

You will collaborate with Logistics, Quality, and External Manufacturing to address regulatory inquiries, audits, and strategic initiatives while driving compliant, scalable packaging solutions.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Packaging Science/Engineering or related field is required.
• 5+ years in packaging, global logistics, or temperature-controlled supply chain.
• Experience in international and regulated environments (cGMP, cGDP, 21 CFR Part 11) with knowledge of ASTM/ISTA packaging standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution packaging improvement projects and implement new technology.
• Design, develop, and test complex distribution packaging from concept through implementation.
• Manage external vendors and contribute to packaging standards.
• Draft strategies, operational protocols, and study reports for clinical and commercial programs.
• Develop GMP test strategies covering global regulatory requirements.
• Oversee supplier relationships, RFPs, and audits; ensure compliance.
• Support regulatory inspections and TrackWise CAPA processes.
• Provide training on cold chain practices and support tech transfers and launches.
