Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ is seeking an Inventory Manager Clinical Supplies Project Manager (IM CSPM) within the Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization.

The role focuses on end-to-end planning of clinical materials, forecasting CFGs, and coordinating packaging and distribution for trials. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in project planning, strong knowledge of ERP systems like SAP/Oracle, and excellent communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, engineering or scientific discipline or High School Diploma with 10+ years equivalent industry experience in Pharmaceutical Clinical Supply (packaging, labeling, logistics and clinical supply inventory management).
• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
• At least 5 years of experience in planning, scheduling, coordination and processing of supply chain activities, or the equivalent.
• Excellent Communication & Interpersonal Skills: ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at various levels, including cross-functional teams, senior management, external vendors, and clinical sites.
• Project Management Skills: strong knowledge of the principles of project management and clinical customer relationship management.
• Technical Proficiency: familiarity with supply chain systems and software (e.g. SAP or Oracle) and demand planning principles as well as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong Analytical & Problem Solving Skills: ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize supply chain processes.
• Flexibility & Adaptability: thrives in fast-paced environment; adapt to changing needs.
• Detail Oriented & Organized: strong attention to detail; multitask and meet deadlines.
• Continuous Improvement Mindset: drive process improvements in clinical supply planning.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), demand planning tools and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of GMP and GCP is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Participates on the Clinical Trial Team (CTT) and collaborates with other functional area representatives to negotiate timelines and strategy for clinical supplies.
• Interacts with key partners in GCS and other organizations to address clinical supply topics.
• Establishes timelines for clinical-supply-needs-per protocol and ensures robust packaging and distribution planning.
• Analyzes study risks related to the supply chain and develops mitigation strategies.
• Utilizes tools such as IRT, PowerApps, SWMS, Veeva, MEDS and Microsoft applications to manage clinical supplies.
• Maintains robust CFG forecast in SAP.
• Reports clinical supply incidents and supports root cause investigations.
• Participates in change controls, deviation processing, and regulatory inspection support.
• Supports process improvements and cross-functional projects within GCS Planning.
• Hybrid/Regulatory related duties per SOPs.
