Job summary

Gene by Gene is seeking a driven Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery of cross-functional projects across the US, UK, and Australia. You will translate executive strategy into actionable plans for technical teams, and distill progress and risks into decision-ready updates for leadership.

In a lean organization, you will drive momentum daily, manage blockers, and ensure projects advance without waiting for direction.

Qualifications

• Strong command of project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum and traditional/waterfall) and applying the right amount of process for a lean org.
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoho, Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Confluence).
• Exceptional communication skills with proven ability to work with technical teams and senior executives.
• Strong sense of urgency and bias for action; comfortable driving momentum in a fast-paced environment without close supervision.
• Positive, solutions-oriented mindset; approaches challenges with energy and options.
• Sharp prioritization and organizational skills; manage multiple concurrent projects without dropping details.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, life sciences, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, and resource plans with sponsors and engineering leads.
• Drive projects from initiation through delivery, maintaining momentum and accountability.
• Manage competing priorities across a lean team, ensuring efficient resource deployment.
• Deliver projects on time and within scope; escalate with options when constraints arise.
• Serve as day-to-day delivery partner for developers and engineers; lead standups and sprint ceremonies.
• Translate business and executive requirements into clear, actionable work for technical teams.
• Represent technical constraints accurately in planning and executive conversations.
• Protect engineering time by consolidating requests and keeping meetings brief.
• Partner with executives to convert strategic vision into roadmaps and success measures.
• Maintain a single source of truth for project status, decisions, and actions.
• Identify risks early and drive resolution; manage scope changes with discipline.
