Job summary

Sumitomo shi Cryogenics Of America Inc in Wakefield, MA is seeking an Applications Engineer to serve as the primary technical interface between SHI Cryogenics Group in Tokyo and key US OEM customers for pre‑sale and post‑sale activities.

You will become the technical expert for major OEMs, collect customer requirements, Define internal specs, collaborate with the Tokyo team on new features, train staff, and support field installations.

Qualifications

• BS in physics, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years professional engineering experience with customer interface preferred.
• Experience with cryopump and ion implanters; high vacuum technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the technical expert for key OEM customers; build relationships with their technical personnel.
• Collect and interpret customer technical product requirements for new opportunities.
• Define internal specs based on customer requirements; work with Tokyo team on new features.
• Provide on-site system integration support and training for customer evaluations and installations.
• Maintain communication with Japan-based teams and global groups on product issues and performance.
