Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Freight Forwarder to coordinate ocean and air shipments, manage bookings for hazardous and nonhazardous cargo, and ensure timely delivery. You will gather client requirements, handle paperwork, and work with internal teams to optimize service levels.

Applicants should have 3+ years in client-facing roles, experience with CargoWise One, and strong MS Outlook, Excel and Word skills.

Qualifications

Freight Forwarding experience preferred.
Three years of experience in a role with extensive client contact.
Computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel and Word.
Excellent math skills and ability to convert measurements to international units.
Knowledge of domestic and international geography.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Schedule ocean and/or air bookings for hazardous and nonhazardous shipments.
Ensure complete and timely delivery of freight and complete paperwork meeting requirements.
Process data in the company system and obtain consular or agency releases as needed.
Identify improvements and implement resolutions within scope.
Negotiate freight quotations detailing container capacities and weights.
Analyze numerical data and draw conclusions.
Prepare and assemble documents and complex letters for issues and resolutions.
Understand full range of freight forwarding services.
