Job summary

Power Integrations in San Jose, CA is seeking an Accounting Operations Controller to lead the global close and financial reporting processes. You will oversee revenue recognition, cost accounting, and inventory across worldwide operations while ensuring SOX controls and US GAAP compliance.

This senior role partners with Sales, Legal, IT and HR to drive accurate, timely disclosures and strong ICFR. You will mentor APAC and US staff, develop technical memos, and prepare SEC disclosures, leveraging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with accounting and audit coursework.
• CPA certification is required.
• 10+ years of audit and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in public accounting (US GAAP).
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting, including ASC 606, revenue recognition, and inventory.
• Hands-on Oracle experience is preferred.
• Experience leading a global close process in a public company.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and manage complex accounting issues.
• Impeccable communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual GL close processes.
• Prepare or review journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses.
• Draft technical accounting whitepapers to support unique transactions (M&A, special contracts).
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting and SEC disclosures.
• Act as primary liaison to external auditors and internal SOX audits.
• Oversee global revenue recognition under ASC 606 across multiple obligations and arrangements.
• Review customer contracts with Sales and Legal for accounting implications; provide optimization guidance.
• Ensure accurate revenue cut-off, deferred revenue, and contract assets/liabilities.
• Maintain revenue recognition policies and supporting documentation.
• Oversee cost accounting including wafer fabrication, assembly, test, and overhead.
• Ensure standard costing, variance analysis, and margin reporting.
• Review inventory valuation, E&O reserves, LCNRV assessments.
• Partner with Operations to improve forecast accuracy.
